Microsoft Word: Controlling Document Design

Qualifications needed

This course presumes a confident knowledge of Word fundamental skills and interface (comfortable with creating documents and using basic formatting). This course is not recommended to those who have attended the training course, Microsoft Word: Producing a Thesis, as there will be an overlap of topics.

Course information

NOTE: These are in-person sessions requiring attendance at the stated venue.

This course will give you the tools to control the structure of your documents; organise and manage layouts to produce more professional looking documents.

Topics include:

  • Using tabs in tabular layouts
  • Using and designing with tables
  • Using page and section breaks to control the flow of content
  • Controlling headers/footers and pagination
  • Using images effectively
  • Editing PDF files in Word

Based on Office 365 for Windows

This course is not recommended for those who have also attended or have booked onto the course Producing a Thesis in Word, as there will be some overlap of topics.
